Luftwaffe Gust Lock Me109

This is a WW2 Luftwaffe Gust lock - used on airfields to clamp the rudder and elevators to prevent them being damaged in high winds. This is the upper part - the lower section was similar but with a large bolt that went through the join - through this and had a large butterfly nut to clamp it down.

This was found in northern France and the remains of the data plate on the side confirm it to be WW2 dated. The lower rubber/leather sections was missing so we have replaced. The red paint is completely original and where the paint was worn away we have added a Messerschmitt emblem.

Price £40 plus postage.

Me 109
This is a section of a genuine fuselage from a Luftwaffe wartime Me 109.

It came to us from a known aircraft recovery.
The background paint is the original RLM paint.

We have added in white paint the schlageter squadron badge that was used on Me 109's from JG26. It was applied to the cockpit side of Adolf Galland's 109 alongside the Mickey Mouse.

The 109 panel panel is ca. 12 x 14 cm mounted on a hard wood panel and a piece of rib structure.

The aircraft details have been laser etched into the wood

Me Bf 109 coffee table

A Messerschmitt Me Bf 109 table.

Made from an aileron section recovered from Stalingrad. The Aileron has been straightened, recovered in cotton, doped taught and repainted in RLM 70?71 and RLM 76.

The rib structure on the trailing edge is completely original and has the original BF 109 stamps and part numbers visible over the red paint.

The balance weight is also untouched and has the original RLM 76 paint with red showing through in places. There is also original paint showing on the end where the push mechanism is.

We recycled a couple of mid century teak table legs into a complicated shape that matches the ribs on the aileron. It is offset to clear the balance weight whilst supporting the centre of gravity.

The aileron is set so that the upper edge is perfectly flat and is held onto the base using only two M8 washers and nuts.

We had a 10mm low iron clear tapered sheet of toughened glass cut to match the reducing length of the aileron with bevelled edges.

The ribs and part numbers are visible through the glass.

It is 70 cm long, 38 cm wide and 48cm tall - perfect to relax with an adult beverage and a good reference book.
